Towards Employment - "Recruitment" (2:19)

Non-profit organizations often have small budgets, but strong stories. Towards Employment wanted a recruitment video that shared a story of overcoming tough obstacles with the help and hope of the organization.

The key to a successful small project is properly planning in pre-production to organize the shoot ahead of time. This ensures each element is in place for a smooth shoot. I decided to shoot anamorphic for a moody and cinematic look with shafts of light and flares breaking through the darkness to portray luminous hope. I knew we wouldn't have much time on set for lighting, so I came up with a solid gear list ahead of time, assuring I would have the right tools on the shoot day. In supporting the cinematic look, I chose to shoot on Atlas anamorphic lenses, leaning into the anamorphic aesthetic and flares.

All this meticulous planning paid off in creating a strong, anamorphic visual look that won two cinematography awards: a Platinum AVA Digital Award and Silver Telly Award.
